Suspended Access Equipment Operator

This is a brand new two day program which includes theory and practicum which was developed to meet legislative requirements for construction workers working on suspended work platforms. Theory will cover terminology, legislation, safety hazards, safe installation and operation.

Participants will demonstrate how to inspect, install and operate the suspended access equipment. Participants will participate in activities and complete worksheets. The practicum will require parts and components of the suspension system and platform.

These parts and components must be provided by the client. Installers and operators must be retrained as often as necessary but at least every three years. If successfully completed, the participants will receive a record of training card. The record of training card must be readily available on the worksite, should an inspector request to see it.

Instructors who deliver this program must have the following qualifications: prior experience installing and operating suspended access equipment (minimum 300 hours) upgraded by a WHSC mentor for the delivery of this program up to date working at heights training.
