Cutting and Coring

The 3-day Concrete Coring and Cutting Program is an intensive course designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and hands-on skills required for precision concrete coring and cutting techniques. This program covers a comprehensive range of essential topics, including safety protocols, equipment operation, core drilling, concrete cutting methods, quality control measures, scanning and compliance with industry standards.
Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) can be utilized to image both concrete slabs and walls. High-frequency radar signals are directed into the concrete. When reflected back to the device, the signals create a clear image in real time. From the image, we can also determine the thickness of the concrete and the exact spacing of concrete. The signals can penetrate up to 24” from one side. This can be combined to examine up to 48” thicknesses when access is given from both sides.
Participants will gain proficiency in operating core drilling and cutting equipment, understanding the properties of different concrete types, and effectively executing coring and cutting tasks. Practical, hands-on exercises will allow students to apply their newfound knowledge in real-world scenarios, including core drilling holes for utilities and creating precise cuts in concrete surfaces.
Safety is a paramount focus throughout the program, with a strong emphasis on adherence to industry standards and maintaining quality control in concrete coring and cutting processes. By the end of this intensive 3-day course, participants will have a solid understanding of core principles and best practices, enabling them to contribute effectively to construction and renovation projects that involve concrete coring and cutting while ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are upheld. This program serves as a crucial foundation for individuals seeking expertise in this specialized field.
